Rhode Island Energy has discontinued its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations with SouthCoast Wind associated with 200MW of offshore wind energy as part of a multi-state RFP originating in 2023. After several PPA negotiation extensions and continued uncertainty in the offshore wind industry, Rhode Island Energy was unable to come to agreeable terms for a PPA. We remain fully supportive of the offshore wind industry and look forward to future PPA opportunities as the industry evolves.
